HOW TO USE (from the manufacturer):
"To measure, the test tube should be filled with a small amount of liquid free of solid particles and gas bubbles. The amount of liquid should be such that the float placed in the test tube floats freely and does not touch the walls of the container. The sugar concentration value is read from the upper meniscus of the liquid."
