Which lid to choose?
They differ in shape, handle, diameter, rim and material.

  • Form. The convex middle of the universal lid allows the settled liquid to drain not onto the products themselves, but along the edge of the pan. Therefore, it is worth giving preference to just such a cover.
  • Pen. It can be side or plain, removable or molded, silicone, plastic or metal. It is important that the lid handle does not get hot. Otherwise, you may burn yourself and drop the cover on the floor, damaging it. When heating the handle, you will have to use an oven mitt or a towel. The metal handle gets the most heat.
  • Metal. A frequent choice of housewives is glass lids. Thanks to the glass, you can watch the cooking process without lifting the lid. Not suitable for oven use, heats up quickly. The most budget option is aluminum covers. They are lighter but not durable. Silicone lids do not slip or break.
  • Frills. It can be made of stainless steel, silicone or be a continuation of the lid. The silicone ones are more snug and don't rattle. The metal rim is the most troublesome - dirt quickly accumulates on it, which is difficult to wash out.
    Diameter. The lid must exactly fit the diameter of the pan and fit snugly.
